
🍞 Homemade Bread – 1kg Loaf
Ingredients:
- 650 g all-purpose or bread flour
- 10 g salt
- 10 g sugar
- 7 g dry yeast (1 packet)
- 400 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Activate Yeast:
- In a small bowl, mix warm water and sugar.
- Sprinkle yeast on top, let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Make Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix to form a soft dough.
- Knead:
- Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise:
- Cover dough and let it rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
- Shape & Second Rise:
- Punch down dough, shape into a loaf.
- Place in greased 1kg loaf pan or on baking tray.
- Cover and let rise 30–40 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat oven to 220°C (430°F).
- Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Cool:
- Remove from pan, cool on wire rack before slicing.
This makes a soft, fluffy 1kg homemade loaf perfect for sandwiches or toast.
