Ingredients

  • 1 kg all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp dry yeast (about 14 g)

  • 600–650 ml warm water

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast
    Mix yeast, sugar, and ½ cup warm water. Rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough
    In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
    Add yeast mixture, oil, and remaining water gradually.
    Knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
  3. First rise
    Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Shape & second rise
    Punch down, shape loaves or rolls.
    Let rise again 30 minutes.
  5. Bake
    Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 30–35 minutes until golden.

Tips

  • Brush top with milk or butter for a soft crust
  • Add sesame or nigella seeds for flavor
  • For extra softness, replace 50 ml water with milk
