Fluffy Homemade 🧈✨

These buttery, flaky, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits are tall, soft, and perfectly golden on top. Perfect for breakfast, dinner, or served warm with butter and jam!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup cold buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing tops)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in cold buttermilk and gently mix until dough just comes together. Do not overmix.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently pat to about 1-inch thickness.
- Fold dough over itself 3–4 times for flaky layers.
- Cut biscuits using a round cutter and place on a baking sheet close together.
- Brush tops lightly with melted butter.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
- Serve warm with butter, honey, or jam.

Tips
- Keep ingredients very cold for extra flaky biscuits.
- Don’t twist the biscuit cutter — press straight down.
- For extra richness, brush with butter immediately after baking.
