
Better Than Pizza Potato Bake 🥔🧀🍕
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Optional toppings: pepperoni slices, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Cook the meat:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned.
- Drain excess fat.
- Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble the bake:
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
- Spread half of the meat sauce over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle with half of the cheese.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, meat sauce, and cheese.
- Add optional pizza toppings on top.
- Bake:
- Cover with foil and bake 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve:
- Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
