🛒 Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ~¾ cup warm water (as needed)

For the filling:

  • 250 g minced meat
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For assembly:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • Extra parsley for garnish

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the dough

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add olive oil and gradually add warm water.
  3. Knead until smooth and soft.
  4. Cover and let rest for 20–30 minutes.

2. Cook the filling

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan.
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Add minced meat and cook until browned.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin.
  5. Stir in parsley, then let cool.

3. Roll and fill

  1. Roll dough into a thin large circle.
  2. Spread the meat mixture evenly.
  3. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.

4. Shape the rolls

  1. Roll the dough tightly like a log.
  2. Cut into equal pieces or keep as long rolls.

5. Bake

  1. Place rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  2. Brush with beaten egg.
  3. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley
  • Serve hot with yogurt sauce or chili sauce

  • You can replace meat with chicken or vegetables
