
1 kg Homemade Bread
Ingredients
- 1 kg all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp dry yeast (about 14 g)
- 3 tbsp oil or melted butter
- 600–650 ml warm water
Instructions
- Activate yeast
Mix yeast, sugar, and ½ cup warm water. Rest 5–10 minutes until foamy. - Make the dough
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
Add yeast mixture, oil, and remaining water gradually.
Knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic. - First rise
Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled. - Shape & second rise
Punch down, shape loaves or rolls.
Let rise again 30 minutes. - Bake
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 30–35 minutes until golden.
Tips
- Brush top with milk or butter for a soft crust
- Add sesame or nigella seeds for flavor
- For extra softness, replace 50 ml water with milk
