Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions 🌶️🌭

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) Italian sausage (sweet or hot)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 bell peppers (red & green), sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown sausages on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and peppers until soft and slightly caramelized.
  4. Add garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper; cook 1 minute.
  5. Return sausages to the pan, cover, and simmer 10–15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Slice sausages if desired and serve hot.

🔥 Serve with: crusty bread, over rice, or inside hoagie rolls.
