📝 Ingredients
For the Dough
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt

For the Filling
- 2 cups farmer’s cheese or ricotta
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Lemon zest (optional)
- Raisins (optional)
Topping
- Powdered sugar

👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt.
- Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
2️⃣ Make the Filling
- Combine cheese, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla, and lemon zest.
- Stir until creamy.
3️⃣ Shape the Pastries
- Roll dough to about ¼ inch thickness.
- Cut into squares.
- Add a spoonful of filling to the center.
- Fold corners toward the middle and pinch lightly.
4️⃣ Bake
- Place on baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Let rest 15 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
5️⃣ Finish
Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve warm ❤️
