🧾 Ingredients
🥟 Dough:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
🍑 Filling:
- 8–10 small plums (pitted)
- 8–10 tsp sugar (for inside each plum)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
🧈 Coating:
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare dough
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add egg, milk, and melted butter.
Knead into a soft, smooth dough. Let rest 10–15 minutes.
2. Prepare plums
Pit the plums and place 1 tsp sugar (and a pinch of cinnamon) inside each.
3. Shape dumplings
Divide dough into equal portions.
Flatten each piece, place a plum in the center, and seal tightly into a ball.
4. Cook
Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil.
Add dumplings and cook for 10–12 minutes until they float.
5. Make coating
In a pan, melt butter and add breadcrumbs.
Toast until golden, then mix in sugar.
6. Finish
Roll cooked dumplings in the buttery breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
7. Serve
Serve warm with extra sugar or a drizzle of honey 🍯
