Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a springform pan.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Fold in half of the cherries.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and top with remaining cherries.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool completely and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
