Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a springform pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Fold in half of the cherries.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan and top with remaining cherries.
  9. Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool completely and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
