🥩 Ingredients
For the meatballs:
- 500g ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried parsley
For the sauce:
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
Topping:
- 1 to 1½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
👨🍳 Instructions
- Prepare the meatballs
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, milk, and spices.
Shape into medium-sized balls. - Cook the meatballs
Heat olive oil in a pan and lightly brown the meatballs on all sides (they don’t need to be fully cooked). - Make the sauce
In the same pan, add tomato sauce, cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well and simmer for 3–5 minutes. - Assemble the dish
Place meatballs in a baking dish and pour the sauce over them. - Add cheese & bake
Sprinkle generously with cheese and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly. - Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with pasta, rice, or bread.
