Rich, tender pork belly slowly braised in a flavorful soy-based sauce with soft, juicy eggs. Sticky, glossy, and absolutely irresistible—perfect with steamed rice!


🧾 Ingredients

  • 700g pork belly (cut into chunks)
  • 5–6 boiled eggs (peeled)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce (for color)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (or honey)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1–2 dried chilies (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 1/2 cups water

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Boil pork (optional but recommended)
    • Boil pork belly for 10 minutes, then drain and rinse.
  2. Sear pork
    • Heat oil in a pan.
    • Fry pork pieces until slightly golden.
  3. Caramelize sugar
    • Add sugar and let it melt slightly for a caramel effect.
  4. Add flavor
    • Add garlic, soy sauces, oyster sauce, pepper, and chilies.
    • Mix well.
  5. Simmer
    • Pour in water and bring to a boil.
    • Add boiled eggs.
    • Cover and simmer for 40–50 minutes.
  6. Reduce sauce
    • Uncover and cook until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  7. Serve
    • Serve hot over steamed rice.

  • Cook longer for ultra-soft pork
  • Add star anise for extra aroma
